Message From The Principal

Dear ELC & LS Parents,

This week has truly been a literary adventure. Thank you for getting your children dressed up for Literature Week. It made our reading and writing celebrations even more special and joyful for everyone.

We were thrilled to welcome Mark Grist to our Lower School. His visit was phenomenal, and our students were captivated by his energy, creativity, and love for words. Through engaging and interactive sessions, he taught practical techniques for writing poems and stories while encouraging students to be confident and courageous with their ideas. There was laughter, imagination, and meaningful learning in every session.

His visit beautifully complemented our Symphony of Stories theme, reminding us that every child has a unique voice and a story worth sharing.

Our Grade 1–5 Spelling Bee was also a wonderful success. We are so proud of our students for their courage, preparation, and school spirit. The First, Second, and Third Place winners in each grade level will be announced during chapel on Friday, March 6. Parents of the winners will be notified in advance by the respective classroom teacher.

Families of students who participated in the February 14 Track & Field Meet are invited to attend the Track & Field Awards Ceremony on Monday, March 2 at 9:30 AM in the Theatre. We look forward to recognizing our student athletes and celebrating their hard work, sportsmanship, and accomplishments.

Looking ahead, Brent’s International Food Festival 2026 is just two weeks away. The IFF Exclusive Pre-Sale runs from February 16–28, 2026, and is open to Brent families, faculty, and staff only. Tickets may be purchased online via the QR code (see poster below). A maximum of three wristbands may be purchased per student or employee.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Wishing you a restful and wonderful weekend.

Warm regards,

Lenore Baldwin
Lower School Principal

Poetic Moment from Lit Week

Teacher: “What did Mr. Mark teach us about poems?”

Student: “That it’s okay to show your feelings.”

Teacher: “Exactly.”

Student: “Great. Because I cried while writing mine.”

Teacher: “Oh no! What was it about?”

Student: “My dog.”

Teacher: “You have a dog?”

Student: “No… but it felt poetic.”
