Facilities

Main Campus

Brent School covers 26 acres / 10.6 hectares and is located south of Alabang, where the air is clean and the skies are blue. Brent Manila’s main campus is designed for Grades 3 through 12, with a separate wing for Upper School (grades 9-12), Middle School (grades 6-8), and Lower School (grades 3-5). Each wing has its own Administrators, Secretaries, and support personnel. Classrooms are air-conditioned and carpeted. (See the ELC, below, for Nursery through grade 2.)

Computer Laboratories

The Upper, Middle, and Lower School computer labs use iMac technology. All machines are fiber-optically wired with Internet connection. Technology is incorporated into the curriculum at all levels. Students in grades 6 and above are welcome to bring their own devices to school, as needed. The Media Center, Libraries, Cafeteria, all classrooms, and the outside Atrium also have wireless capability.

Science Laboratories

Brent School maintains eight fully equipped Science Labs, with both workstations and lecture-demo capabilities. The Upper School Science Labs are specialized by subject such as biology, physics, and chemistry. Labs are equipped with an array of digital sensors for laboratory investigations in all branches of science.

Media Center/Libraries

The Media Center is tailored for the reading and research levels of Upper and Middle School students. Computer labs are also available, as well as plug-in stations for students with their own devices. The Lower School wing has its own dedicated library for students in grades 3-5. Students and parents in all grade levels borrow materials with their Brent ID card. Families can log in at home to check the status of their materials.

Cafeteria

The Cafeteria opens at 7:30am so that students in grades 3 and above can buy breakfast before classes begin at 8:00am. Instead of cash, the Brent ID card is used for purchases. Healthy choices are made by choosing items such as salad, soup, sandwiches, fruit, and yogurt. If desired and allowed, items such as pizza, fried chicken, and frozen yogurt are also available. Parents can monitor by asking for a printout of their child’s account.

Theater

Brent’s Visual and Performing Arts Theater is proudly used for the Upper School production each February, the Middle School production each October, and the Elementary Christmas show each December. The theater is also used for the grade 4 Recorder Recital, Grade 5 Band Concert, Orchestra, Drama, Dance, and school-level assemblies. Our Theater is one of many places where Brent students truly shine.

Swimming Pool

A six-lane, 25-meter swimming pool–complete with touch pads and electronic timing–is available to students during their PE (Physical Education) classes. Students on our swim team, The Aqualions, use the pool for training after school and during meets hosted on some Saturdays. Students wanting extra lessons beyond the PE classes can receive lessons after school. The pool is covered, so sunscreen is not needed. The water is 50% saline and 50% chlorine, making the pool hygienic while also comfortable for swimmers’ eyes.

Gymnasiums

There are two air-conditioned gymnasiums with electronic scoreboards in the main campus. Gym 1, or the “Lion’s Den,” is Brent’s main gymnasium. In addition to sports such as basketball, volleyball, badminton and table tennis, a Dance Studio is available to students in ballet and jazz. Upper School’s basketball teams participate in the annual Pack the House event, and volleyball teams enjoy the Spike Night each year. Students also use Gym 2 for sports during their PE classes, after school for clubs and teams, and on weekends during scheduled games.

Pavilion

The “Lion’s Lair” is an extension of Gym 1 and Gym 2. It is a covered sports facility including one full basketball court, two full volleyball courts, and a Fitness Center. Students use the courts during their PE classes and after school for clubs and teams.

Fitness Center

The Fitness Center in the Pavilion includes state-of-the-art weight and aerobic machines. It is available to Upper School students and employees during the posted hours.

Baseball Field

Students use Brent’s full-size baseball diamond during PE classes, as well as during clubs and teams after school. There are covered seating areas, an electronic scoreboard, and a batting cage. Upper School students can participate in our annual Slug Fest.

Early Learning Center (ELC)

Our Early Learning Center is built for children in Nursery through grade 2 (ages 3 to 8). In addition to their daily Homeroom routine, time is scheduled each week for students to visit their own iPad lab, Library, Art room, and Music room. In their PE classes twice a week, students enjoy their covered play area, full-size gymnasium, and sports fields. Lunch and assemblies take place in their own Cafeteria/Multi-Purpose Hall. Classrooms are air-conditioned and carpeted.

Tennis Center

Eight covered tennis courts are used by students in their PE classes and during their after-school clubs and teams. The Tennis Center also includes bathrooms, changing rooms, concessions, and a viewing deck. Teams in grades 6-12 compete in local and international tournaments throughout the school year.

Track

Our six-lane, 400-meter all-weather track, and two full-size soccer/rugby fields are used for PE classes, clubs and teams after school, and frequently on weekends to host tournaments. Stadium lights allow Brent to host evening sporting events such as the annual Friday Night Lights for soccer, and rugby’s Storm the Field. Students compete against both local and international schools.

Koi Fish Pond

The Koi Fish Pond provides a quiet place to read, eat, or reflect on the day. Students, parents, and teachers often stop by to watch the dozens of beautiful koi fish, admire the tropical plants, or simply enjoy the breeze.

Alumni Center

Brent values students–present and past. The Rev. Gabriel Dimanche Alumni Center shows the pride we have in our alumni, and in our history as a school. Students, parents, faculty, administrators, and alumni are welcome to browse through the collection of Brent photos, Ganzas (yearbooks), and memorabilia.

Services

Clinic

Clinics are located in both the Main Building and the ELC. A full-time physician is on duty Monday through Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm. Four nurses are on campus daily, and remain until the last bus leaves at 5pm. When Brent hosts activities on the weekend, at least two nurses are available.

Clinic staff collaborates with students, their families, faculty, and administrators to maintain and promote wellness. Healthy children are successful learners!

Transportation

Nearly 75% of our students are bus riders. 30 busses–owned and operated by Brent—provide routes in areas such as Alabang, Parañaque, Pasay City, Makati, and Pasig. Elementary students sit towards the front of the bus while older students sit in the back. All routes use central pick-up points in the morning. Some routes use central drop-off points after school, and some deliver students directly to their homes.

In addition to a driver, a bus attendant is present to provide supervision and assistance. Drivers and attendants take part in a yearly refresher course for first aid and emergency situations. A security guard is assigned to our longest routes. Each bus utilizes a two-way radio, and all seats are equipped with seatbelts.
