Congratulations to both Sanghyun “Paul” Seo (gr. 9) and Andrew Hyungmin Lee (gr. 12) for their performances at the South East Asia Mathematics Competition March 2-4, 2018. Both Andrew and Paul have received invitations to the World Math Championships to be held in Melbourne, Australia this June. Paul also received a Gold Medal for his individual performance at SEAMC! Way to go, Lions!
We are honored to have Mathematician at Large for the Mathematical Association of America, Dr. James Stuart Tanton, come and visit Brent for the South East Asian Math Competition (SEAMC) 2018. Brent is co-hosting SEAMC 2018.
Dr. Tanton is also the Chair Advisory Council for the National Museum of Mathematics. He founded the Curriculum Inspirations Project and the Global Math Project whose goal is joyful uplifting mathematics for the world. Dr. Tanton was warmly accepted and with much admiration by Brent’s Grades 4 and 5 students.
Georgia Military College JC Women’s Golf Team signed Hannah Rutland (gr. 12). This scholarship will allow her to pursue her academic and athletic goals with GMC this Fall 2018. Way to go, Lion!
Grace Loedin (gr. 11) finished the 10k run at the Run for Love on Feb 10, 2018. Grace was one of few students to attempt the 10K distance as she competed against several adult runners. She showed amazing confidence, perseverance and determination.
“Run for Love” is a Brent Buddies Club sponsored event to raise funds to support special needs students at a public elementary school here in Binan. Many students and Brent community members came to support the event by running 2k, 5k and 10k distances.

Girls Swim team brought home the Sportsmanship Award
Regina “Erin” Castrillo (gr. 11) broke the APAC record for 50m fly event with a time of 28.32
Audrey Herrera-Lim (gr. 9), Erin Castrillo (gr. 11), Angela Villamil (gr. 12) and Carla Moletti (gr. 11) broke the school record in the 4×100 Freestyle relay with a time of 4:11.63 and placed 2nd in APAC

Dillan Muterspaugh (gr. 12) and Tae Hoon Kim (gr. 12) were selected ALL-APAC athletes

In December 2017, PATAFA (Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association) held their Track and Field National Finals. This included several months of qualifying meets to establish the finals bracket.
Olivia Kwon (gr. 8) was the youngest competitor to participate in the under 18 age category in the 800 meter finals race. She came from behind to win the Silver medal for her 2nd place finish with a time of 2 minutes and 28 seconds.
